Reunion Information & Resources

Below is a list of ways to access information about your upcoming reunions:

FAQ

Q: Can I bring my spouse/partner? Children? Parents?

A: Absolutely! The reunion is open to Pearson alumni and your families. Children under the age of 5 are free to register, and we will be running kid’s camps for children aged 6-14. We ask that children over the age of 17 register as adults.

Q: When can I arrive at the campus? When do I have to leave campus?

A: You can arrive on campus any time after 1pm on the first day of the reunion. Check-out is by 10am on the last day of the reunion.

Q: Where will we sleep? Can I request a specific room?

A: Accommodations will be in the College dorms. We will do our best to accommodate specific room or house requests. We will also do our best to accommodate specific requests for sharing with friends and for sharing between parents and their children. Families with children will be housed in the same residence(s) as much as possible, as this assists in child minding and privacy for all concerned.

Q: Is there wireless access to the Colleges network?

A: There is wireless access most places on campus. Password is provided at check in.

Q: What about the Travel Fund?

A: The Travel Fund was established by alumni to help fellow alumni access resources to help them attend Reunions. Please consider donating to the Travel Fund and help a co- year or other alum make it back too!

Q: Can we arrange a trip to Race Rocks?

A:  While we love trips to Race Rocks, August is a particularly sensitive time of year from an ecological standpoint especially for nesting birds. Because of this, we can not land on the island. However, we do still facilitate boat trips to see the surrounding areas and the beautiful Salish Sea. You may sign up for the Race Rocks tours once you arrive.

Q: Can I stay on after the reunion?

A: We’re sorry to disappoint, but no. The campus is rented out to other groups throughout the summer and preparations will be underway for the start of the Pearson College school year. Sometimes another group is due to arrive on the same day you leave, so it is important that you make plans for accommodation off campus once the reunion is over.

Q: Why is there fundraising tied to the reunions?

A: When the College was founded, the Government of Canada and the provincial governments provided generous annual funding for scholarships to both Canadians and international students. This public funding has almost entirely disappeared. As many of our alumni benefited from such funding, we want to be transparent about the challenges the College is facing and give our alumni an opportunity to participate in the same generosity that brought them here.
